Strategy

Divide up the content in bite sized chunks that allows the user to go through it at their own pace

Proposed Solution

Organize the assets available and prepare a basic UI kit to serve as an early design system, allowing the timeline to be less of a challenge

Impact

67% increase in user engagement
80% decrease in file hand off to development

The Brief

Two websites. Eight weeks. No assets. That was the challenge facing my team. (Not to mention the endless red tape from the medical and legal departments.)

So what do I do with an impossible deadline and my back to the wall? Dive in headfirst. We had a loose understanding of our color palette, and some basic graphics in place for placeholder documents. I combined what we had into a rudimentary UI kit that the team could access to lighten the load. From there I built out templates for each website while working with both copywriters and engineering to get the structure in place.

Patient Friendly Website

Against all odds and with a lot of help from my team, I managed to get both websites done on time and under budget. The best part? After hand off to dev, there were no blockers and the sites emerged as pixel perfect as the files I provided.

For Healthcare Professionals

Catering to a different market on the same timeline can be intimidating, especially when that timeline sounds impossible. But in the end I was able to balance the data-heavy statistics with the need to know information.

In Conclusion...

Working with dev was seamless with my tidy hand off files. Client saw a 67% increase in user engagement from their previous website design after 6 months. The templates and UI kit I created led to the creation of standardized documentation reducing the time from mockup to hand off by 80%. This in turn resulted in a $100,000 savings for the client.
